Подробнее "9 souls –2003" "Aoi Haru" "Also Ritual" - Anno's next live action. - Fun fact: Ritual's main actor is the director of Lily Chou Chou. "All About Lily Chou Chou "Bandage "Blue Spring (Aoi haru) "Be With You (Ima, Ai ni Yukimasu) "Departures "Goemon (2009)" "Heavenly Forest "Harmful Insect (Gaichuu) "Ikigami "Lovely Complex" "Linda Linda Linda" "Love Exposure" "Love & Pop" - It's a movie which was directed by Hideako Anno in 1998 and deals mostly with Enjo Kosai. "Love exposure" "Love Letter" - (another film by Shunji Iwai) "Maiko_Haaaan!!!_-_DVD_[v2][JAP SUB ENG][c9bbe566] "Maiden Voyage" "Nobody Knows "Nobody to Watch Over Me (Daremo mamotte kurenai)" - oh god this movie was 100 times sadder than AALCC. i cried so much. "Norikos Dinner Table" "Oppai volleyball” "Poruno sut –1998" "Kids Return – boxing jap "Sam taimu mashin bursu (2005)" "Swallowtail Butterfly" -by the same director is a great movie... a bit dated but awesome nonetheless. "Sugoi monogatari nii-chan" "Suicide Circle" "Strange Circus" from Sion Sono, I knew this was a movie I just had to watch "Tokyo Tower" - Mom And Me And Sometimes Dad "Timecrimes" "TIME MACHINE BLUES" "THE QUIET FAMILY" "The taste of tea" "Terminal"
"Shoosuteyo machi e deyou (aka Throw Away Your Books, Rally in the Streets)" - I extremely encourage you to watch by Terayama. It's kind of psychedelic and totally mind-blowing. As described in IMDb a Phantasmagoric Materpiece of Rebellious Japanese teen angst. Also worths a mention its awesome soundtrack.
"Sway/Yureru"- Has anyone seen - by Miwa Nishikawa? - One of the most powerful movies I've ever seen. The last two minutes of the film, along with the last reaction shot, will break your heart like nothing else.
"Rashomon" - It's about a murder/accident that is viewed from different angles, much like - Except the film pretty much says that memory is undependable as the way you first saw something will differ and change as you grow older.
You literally spend 95% of the film CONVINCED what you saw was a murder. You get inside the head of the witness and slip into this feeling of "Yeah, he's guilty. It's obvious he doesn't give a rat's ass about anyone!"Then the final 5% of the film unfolds and you feel ABSOLUTE REGRET for having been so fucking wrong about said "conviction." HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0436816/
"Tamago" / The Quiet One
"Shissou" by Hiroyuki Tanaka (SABU) - it's even more depressing
"Shigurui - DEATH FRENZY" - Its 12 episodes (20-30min each) and its fucking EPIC and just moody as fuck. Trust me, you will not regret this. I have seen alot of samurai films and this is easily one of the most underappreciated and brilliant. Think of it all as a 3-4 hour epic samurai movie man. Im telling you you will not regret this. "Hitokiri (also known as tenchu!)" i remember when SABU movies got posted here frequently hold up down, DANGAN runner, postman blues (probably my favorite just because THAT BAWWWW ENDING)
"Ping-pong". Japanese movie called - One of my favorites”
"The World is Ours" movie which got similar themes.
"Green Legend Ran" - Friendly bump to thank the anon that recommended - (pretty sure it was this thread, don't have time to scroll through the entire thing again), just finished watching and thoroughly enjoyed it.
